The core part of N Terraria is its introduction of new playable races. Each race is unique in its composition, having different attributes and abilities making them better or worse for different classes.

N Terraria 6[]

Now the stats of the races are based on stat points.

Some races have special skills and abillities. These include most of the races. The skills can be assingned to one of the four spell slots, though they each have a cooldown and will announce when they have recharged after use. Also, there are skills that can't be used in the spell slots(because they are passive). The abillites not are in the race skill page, but are passive skills that some races have (e.g. Breath underwater).

N Terraria 5 or lower[]

Stat changes are described as a percentage of the baseline race, humanity. Such that a race with 150% melee damage would do 1.5 times more melee damage than a human. Numbers that are higher than 100%, are best for most stats except those such as action time, melee speed, mining speed, and mana cost, where increases mean for slower actions and more expensive spells.

Some races have special abilities. These include Demons, Deermen, and the Titan races. They can be assingned to one of the four spell slots, though they each have a cooldown and will announce when they have recharged after use.

Some of these races haven't been re-implemented or won't be re-implemented into N Terraria 6.

Raccoon Trivia[]

I don't remember which one came first, Races or Classes, but I guess was the races.

I kind of added the races first because... Well, I was kind of sick of the normal Terrarian character, and wanted to see If I could make so one could play as a Goblin. As you've seen, It was.

After adding the first races, the Terraria Forums comunity helped with the others, so came the Zugitaki, the Madra Rua, the Antmen and the Titan races. I really feel bad about the fact that I didn't took note anywhere of the name of the people who created it. Actually, I guess I did take note, the problem is that it was through code comments, so after building, It's erased. (I didn't really thought at first that would have a need for old season sources).

As for the recruitable npplayers, at that time I was playing too much Granado Espada Online, so I thought about what would happen if you could have the npcs as followers, and then they has surged. I didn't took the idea ahead, but I remember that there were more recruitable npplayers than is shown on the list above, or at least 2 more. Beside, I guess that recruitable npplayer part is on the wrong place, since they aren't exactly a race, but more related to npplayers themselves.
